Let Me Introduce Myself: Meet Caleigh Michele

1. My home is Florida. Specifically the Naples area. The Southwest Florida area used to have such a different rep about it, however within the last few years it has change SO much and is continuing to change each day! It used to be the "youngsters" aka myself and a lot of others would find zero things to do when visiting or living in the Southwest Florida area. That is changing so fast! The younger crowd is quickly taking over this area and I couldn't love that more.

A few things I love:

Beautiful beaches.

Quiet cities.

Easy driving.

Growing night life.

Upcoming music scene.

Lovely local cafes.

3. Im a Disney girl to my core. Do I even need to say anything else? I dream of one day owning a vacation home in Orlando, Florida with a different Disney theme in each room, an annual pass, and food service delivering Erin Mckenna's donuts each morning. (Joking...kinda).

4. I love Jesus! I TRULY started following God after I graduated high school. I considered myself a "Christian" my entire life. However, I really started to uncover who God really is and how I can follow Him after I graduated. I needed to discover who He was on my own without others telling me to. (I went to a Christian school from 5th-12th grade.) Recently, this past year I really went deep into God's Word and I couldn't be happier that I decided to do that. I am now in a place in my life where I am so beyond excited to continue to learn each day who He is and how my life will change because of it!

Well, good morning! I felt like today was a good day to sit down and really take the time to introduce myself. To say hi, howdy, what's up?! Recently, I've been "rebranding" myself. Who I want myself to be, how I want to portray my life, and most importantly what GOD wants me to be in this life I am so blessed to wake up and live out each day.

I also realized that I miss pulling out my laptop and just writing out my heart onto a blank blog post and creating sentences that will hopefully inspire others in how they live out their day!

So I decided to sit down this morning in a messy bun and my Walmart perscription glasses to tell you 6 fun, possibly weird, but true facts about me and my life!

Fact Time:

2. I live a plant based and gluten free life! I say "life" because being plant based is truly my way of living. I LOVE all things plants, essential oils, vegan meals, natural beauty, and more! I am also gluten free! Yipee! (Said no one ever.) However, I can tell you I am the girl you come to whenever you have any questions about gluten free/dairy free substitutes. (I've got the scoop on ALL the best switches, so message dis girl if you're freaking out that you'll never eat bread or cheese again.) I am a maaajor foodie! I can down a large fry and Chick-fil-a sauce with a large unsweetened iced tea or I can be loving sipping on my green juice and a super green salad with coconut bacon. Hashtag balance.

5. I struggle with OCD and Anxiety! This is something I will continue to work on for what I can assume will be the rest of my life and I've decided to be okay with that. My OCD tends to have "flair ups" every now and then, but currently have been decently okay (even though I give in to my OCD tendencies daily). My anxiety has actually been non existent lately, but I have dealt with my fair share of panic attacks and overwhelming feelings of anxiety in my life. My main focus whenever anxiety comes into play is: God. I am learning each day when I am faced with anxiety to take my eyes off the problem and place them on the one of can defeat ALL problems, God.
Philippians 4:6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything with prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."

6. I'm a hippie at heart. I love everything yoga, meditation, nature, raw foods, no make up looks, farmers markets, spreading peace and inspiration, animals, and my holistic way of life. Does all that really consider me a modern day hippie? Maybe not, but probably.

Well, folks. There you have it! Six random, maybe silly, yet true facts about little ole me. I hope you got to see a little bit into my life and what I am all about! I hope you come back here to read more posts from me very soon. I'm thinking maybe a yummy food recipe next? Anyone down for a funky taco recipe? Thought so!

May Favorites - Natural Beauty, Vegan Fashion, and Supplements!

Well, hello and welcome back to the blog people! Today I am so happy to be sharing my May favorites with all of you. I love watching favorites videos and reading everyones blog posts and in this post I'll be going into detail about what my current favs are as well as sharing my youtube video where I talked about all of these goodies in more depth! Lets get on in with it!

Natural Beauty

Manuka Honey & Cacao Face Mask -

I first got this idea from Holistic Habits on YouTube and I have had it in the back of my mind for months now. I opened up my cabinet and realized I had a lovely little pack of organic raw cacao I could of been using over and over by now. I already LOVE the benefits of using raw Manuka honey on my skin and combining these two beautiful ingredients together is pure magic.

The benefits of these two bad boys are endless:

SUPER antioxidant packed

CALMING to the skin especially those with ACNE or REDNESS

Deliciously RELAXING and has the most delightful scent!

OH and it's 100% edible. It's a win win win!

I just do equal parts honey and cacao and mix it together until its a gooey mask! Smear it all over yo clean, dry face!

Facial Cleansing Brush -

This is SUCH a game changer for me! My skin was super dry and flakey up until purchasing this brush. My skin gets really dry and flakey if I don't exfoliant it regularly and after using this I immediately can tell a huge difference. My skin is baby butt smooth after using this brush! It's good to get a nice exfoliating done every few days or so! I've been loving this and I purchased it from Walgreens.

Thrive Market -

The Thrive Market App is such a fantastic find for me and anyone else who loves their healthy foods, supplements, and products. If you become a member you get a percentage off all of the site products!!! It's like Amazon for health nuts!

AND if you use my link here you get 25% off your first purchase:

Friends + Gilmore Girls T's -

Need I say more to any of the following? Everyones two favorite shows and Target is now carrying both of these! Say whaaaat. PS. The Friends T-Shirt I found in the guys section.

Target's New Disney Line -

They. Have. So. Much. From cute little Mickey and Minnie beach towels to fancy dog bowls. They have everything and it was so hard not to go way overboard.

Ripped Denim Boyfriend Jeans -

I have been looking for a pair of affordable and super cute boyfriend jeans for quite some time now and I think I found them. They are so cute, so comfortable, and very affordable. You can find them at Forever 21 here:

Vegan Luxury Leather Bag -

This has to be one of my favorite finds this month. I have been looking for a vegan luxury bag for a while and this one just popped out to me while I was at Marshalls the other week. Yes, you read that right. MARSHALLS! They are actually labeling most of their vegan bags now on the tags and this one was my favorite. Super cute and it can fit my MacBook Pro in it! It was also on sale for only $25! I KNOW!

Healthy Drinks + Supplements

GT's Trilogy Kombucha -

I've been on a kombucha kick lately and this has to be my current favorite. The flavors are so refreshing, fruity, and the perfect summer drink!

Maca and Cacao Powder -

Lastly, these two gold mines. Maca is my new favorite supplement to add into all my smoothies. I used to use this back when I worked at a raw cafe a few years ago. It's great for balancing out hormones and it has a delicious, sweet flavor. The cacao powder is packed full of antioxidants and body loving ingredients! You also can't go wrong with a nice chocolatey smoothie from time to time...or everyday.

We have now come to the end of the post. SO sad I know...but don't forget to head over to watch my Youtube video featuring all of these fun favorites. See you in my next post!

Beauty By Earth - Organic Self Tanner & Eye Cream Review

Hellooooo wonderful people! Today, I will be reviewing a few of Beauty By Earth's products that they sent over to me to try out a months ago. I've been using and getting a feel on these products for close to two months now and I am so happy to be sharing my honest thoughts with all of you!

A little bit about the products I will be using is that they are 100% natural, use mostly organic ingredients, and are both vegan, non-GMO, and gluten free!

ALL of the products that they make are 100% natural, use many organic ingredients, are all gluten free, and non-GMO! Also, a lot of the products on their site are vegan as well!

Self Tanner - $27.99

10/10 Recommend!

Scent: Little to NO scent! After about 30 minutes to an hour I started to smell a little bit of the tanner, but it is NOT a normal self tanner, yucky smell! It's a very subtle lotion scent! Love this because I absolutely hate the smell of self tanners!

Last: The tan lasts me anywhere around 5-10 days! Depending on if I am in the sun or not, how bad I sweat, or now many showers I take!

Color: Very golden brown, not orange at all! YAY!

Effectiveness: Absolutely LOVE! It doesn't break me out at all and I love how buildable this tanner is. Would look absolutely gorgeous on all skin types.

How to use:

First, make sure you exfoliant the heck out of yo body! You can do this the day before to make this easier or right before you self tan!

Use self tan body mit to apply tanning lotion all over the body! Using a quarter size of the product at once.

Walk around and air off for a few minutes before putting on clothes or jumping into bed to refrain from getting tanner on any fabrics!

By the sixth hour of letting it sit on your skin you can shower and rinse the excess off! If you want it to be a little darker, you can go ahead and add on another coat and repeat the process! It's a very buildable product!

Coffee Bean Eye Cream - $21.99

10/10 Recommend!

Scent: Little to NO scent! Which I love because I have very sensitive skin.

Effectiveness: This product was surprisingly very effective for me and I was very intrigued with the coffee bean eye cream, because I wanted to see if the caffeine would really wake up my under eyes. I was very skeptical! This product actually does what it claims! It's slightly cooling and tightening, but not overpowering and left my under eyes feeling more awake, refreshed, and way less puffy!

How to use:

After you wash your face, apple a tiny dot amount under and around each of your eyes.

Repeat morning and night for the best results!

I am so beyond in love with both these products and I am so thankful and happy I got to try them both out and let you know how they work so you can happily use them too! Here is a link to their site so you can go ahead and scope out the products I talked about in this post! I also did an in depth video about both of these products on my youtube channel that you can easily share with your friends and family as well!

My Favorite Ways To Meditate - 3 Different Ways

Well, hello Saturday and hello beautiful readers! Today I am coming to you with some of my favorite ways to dive deep into meditation. I recently have been combining my meditation practice with my time with God and it is amazing. Who better to give you that peace and mindfulness you need rather than God himself! So excited to be entering my first blog post on my brand new and updated website for all of you to read! Lets get started. :)

1. Meditate On Scripture (Literally)

One of my new ways of meditating is to literally find a passage you want to read whether that's something random you chose or digging through The Bible to find the right one for you in that moment. (PS. I am including a photo of one of my favorite "emergency Bible verse" photos I find on Pinterest, because they are SO beyond handy). Once I find the passage or verse I want to read I go through and find a key word or phrase that sticks out to me in that moment!

Link To Emergency Bible Verses https://twitter.com/yolandalive/status/651757236562341889

For example:

Psalms 94:19 says "When my anxieties multiply, your comforting calms me down."

What an AWESOME verse to meditate on. To close your eyes, play some nice instrumental yoga music, and repeat that to yourself a few times. To really imprint that into your mind! *Don't forget to breathe deeply and slowly. Meditation is all about connecting the breathe to the body and calming the mind down. So try not to think about anything else, besides that word of phrase you chose to concentrate on!*

2. The "Abide" App

THIS right here is my new discovery in the App store on my iPhone! It's literally a Christian meditation app that uses God and His word to help you meditate. It gives numerous different meditations that use verses and a guiding voice as well as music and peaceful sounds to guide you in your meditations! Such a great find and the meditations are FREE.

3. Acts of Worship

Now, people sometimes get confused when they think about "worship". I used to think when I was younger that worship was singing songs to God and that's it! It wasn't until I was much older that I realized worship can be shown through everyday acts of life. Whether that's working efficiency at your day job, being kind to the people you come across, or exersicing and eating healthy because God wants us to honor the body we were given. All of these are acts of worship and we are given chances EVERYDAY to either use them as acts of worship to God or to do them sloppily and not with a purpose.

HOWEVER! Worshiping with the mindset of meditation I think is such a great way to think about it. Centering your mind around being in the presence of God when you're performing these peaceful tasks is so rewarding. It can be through singing those worship songs or praising Him through your peaceful yoga flows, going for runs to clear your mind, or laying still on your bed for a few moments. All of these can be acts of worship when you place yourself at the feet of Jesus and really center your mind on the presence of God.

Thank you so much for reading along for today! I am so beyond happy to be sharing more on my site and to really connect with all of you reading. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Sundays Are For Snoozing

Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. Exodus 20:8-10

I've learned over the past few weeks as season starts to kick its way into high gear, that I am very much an introvert. Being around people in 7 shifts in 5 days during the week starts to get very overwhelming for me. I started getting cranky and sleepy and found myself just being annoyed by every human contact in general. Learning that, yes I love people. I love being around people and spending time with others, but especially during these busy months it's important to learn that we all need to pause and give a break to ourselves. Everyone needs a moment to collect themselves. To rest. To recover from the very long week.

We all get so caught up in having busy lives or multiple jobs that we forget that yes life can be great in the business of life, but in order to be our best selves it's important to relax. So when your busy schedule is pulling you all which ways these holiday's, remember to set aside one day in your week to just relax. To spend some alone time with yourself and God. To read, write, sleep, binge watch those episodes you've been missing, and to do those unwinding things your body and mind needs.

It is SO needed that the Bible encourages rest so many times!

Then he said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath." Mark 2:27

I recently bought three different Christian books to start reading. One of them being The Story. Which is The Bible paraphrased into 31 chapters. It's to be read like a novel. I have never heard of something like this. I am only on Chapter 2, but what a good way to rest. Reading the stories of God and His people. Next time Sunday (or the end of your work week) rolls around turn on some worship music, throw your hands in the air, and rest in His arms. Read the comforting words of God. Share these special moments with your loved ones or simply be  alone in His presence. It is so important to gather the rest you need to start up the busy week once again.

Enjoy the Christmas season. Give a lot, but don't forget to give to yourself, too! <3
